About Us

Spiritual Food for the new Millennium is a year-round CSA providing 100% Biodynamic and Organic food.  We are a consumer-based program that supports several small family farms and artisans in addition to our primary vegetable farm. Our vision is to elevate the wellbeing of our members by providing “true food” grown in harmony with natural and spiritual principles.

Our mission
is to support small Biodynamic and truly organic farmers and artisans who steward the earth and ensure our members a stable supply of food independent of conventional supply chains, for a resilient community based on integrity and relationships of mutual benefit and trust. Community is in the name of CSA. There are many ways of participating including volunteering which enriches the experience. Founded in 1998, Spiritual Food CSA is sponsored by the School of Life, a yoga-center spiritual community. Our hands-on service work includes serving a hot home-cooked meal to homeless people in downtown D.C. every Sunday.

What's in each weekly share?

Throughout the year we enjoy a procession of seasonal vegetables and herbs with occasional fruit. Our Biodynamic farmers have creatively responded to the challenges of climate change by installing many greenhouses so as to provide fresh produce all year round.  

Each season provides a succession of healthy and delicious vegetables, including salad and sautéing greens (lettuce, chard, arugula, escarole, rocket, Asian greens), brassicas (kale, cabbage, kohlrabi), root crops (carrots, potatoes, celeriac, beets), summer favorites (peppers, tomatoes, squashes, cucumbers, melons) and sundry others! In addition we provide occasional special pantry goods such as nuts, dried fruit, raw apple cider vinegar, etc.

How does ordering/pickup work?

Pick up day is Wednesdays. Subscriptions received up to Friday at 12:00 noon will begin the following week. We'll text/email you each Tuesday with what to expect in the share, and send you another reminder on pickup day when your share is ready. You may put your share on hold for vacation or family needs by contacting us by the Friday before.

Where can I pickup?

Pickup is every Wednesday throughout the DC Metro area: Arlington, Bethesda/Chevy Chase, Cabin John, Capitol Hill, Hyattsville, and Takoma Park, plus two Waldorf schools

When does the season start/end?

Our 2025 season kicks off on May 28 (or June 4 for biweekly folks!) and runs year-round.
